Recommended songs from Cheque’s debut EP, ‘Razor’
Cheque is, without doubt, one of the fast-rising guns to watch out for in the Nigerian music industry, his new extended play ‘Razor‘ goes further to back up this acclaim. Singed to the Penthauze camp, the budding star has proven that he’s got the potentials to be Nigeria’s next superstar.
His new project, the ‘Razor‘ extended play which was released a few days ago, has been met with rave reviews from critics, music experts and fans. To that effect, I’ve decided to open your eyes and share light about the best songs on the project.
‘Zoom‘ is the first tracks housed under the critically acclaimed ‘Razor‘ EP. In fact, a lot of fans on social media has praised the masterpiece to be their favourite on the extended play.
On ‘Zoom,’ Cheque talked about staying away from bad energy, ignoring bad vibes and moving unblemished. Good music lovers would definitely like this one.
When they tryna hold me I go zoom zoom zoom
I don’t like your vibe and I go zoom zoom zoom
Blowing up the roof and e go boom boom boom
Don’t you ever treat me like I be mumu
Bad energy I zoom zoom zoom
I’m on a way like I be coming soon got a chaperone he go boom boom boom
So when they tryna hold me I zoom zoom zoom
‘Satisfied,’ produced by Masterkraft, was released before the ‘Razor‘ EP landed and it was merrily accepted by fans and critics. It talks about how people switch up on you when you got nothing but come around when you’re popping. He said;
When I get the money then I got your time
Abena then I got your time When I gat no money no one gat my time
Where you dey when I no gat no dime
When I move am like woah woah woah
Henny make me move slow mo I no fit pay no funds I no be kojo
‘Hollywood,’ produced by talented music producer, DeeMarc is the 5th and last track on the EP, it is a low-tempo sedate joint, definitely one for the deep listeners of the proper Cheque music.
The Tempoe-produced ‘Loco‘ is slightly different from the regular Cheque songs. He demonstrated versatility, debunking the popular idea that he’s only good with Hip-Hop and Trap. He sent a clear message that he is also good with the regular Afrobeats.
Give me back to back
Mix it up yh that formula
The loving wey you give me make e no decline
And every time I grind na you dey mind o
O you my ride or die
And anybody wey wan put asunder die I do anything
I go run a thousand miles
And every time I grind na you dey mind
