Late Hollywood Star, Sharon Tate’s Wedding Dress Sells For $56,000 At Auction

One lucky buyer has bought a piece of Hollywood history with a tragic back story, the wedding dress late actress, Sharon Tate wore for her wedding to director Roman Polanski in London in 1968.

The winning bid for the stylish mini wedding dress was $56,250 at the auction on Saturday.

In the late 1960’s, Sharon Tate was one of the most promising actresses in the entire world but just eighteen months after her wedding, She was killed by now famous serial killer, Charles Manson.

In August 1969, four members of the Charles Manson cult broke into the newlywed’s home in Los Angeles and murdered the then 26-year old heavily pregnant actress and four friends.
Manson, who masterminded the murders was subsequently convicted on seven counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. The sentence was eventually modified to life imprisonment and he died in Prison in November 2017 at the age of 83.
The actress’s murder is the subject of an upcoming Quentin Tarantino film titled “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” with Margot Robbie playing the role of Sharon Tate, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Lena Dunham. The movie is set to be released in July 2019.
