Cristiano Ronaldo Denies Rape Allegations -‘It Goes Against Everything I Am’

Cristiano Ronaldo has denied an accusation of rape made against him by Kathryn Mayorga, claiming such a crime was “against everything that I am and believe in”.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of raping Kathryn Mayorga in June 2009, the summer before he joined Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The claim was originally settled when Mayorga’s silence on the event had been bought by Ronaldo, but now her lawyer is questioning the legality of the out-of-court settlement.

A civil complaint has been filed in Nevada and Las Vegas police have reopened their investigation into the allegations.

“At the time the report was taken, the victim did not provide detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description,” said a statement from the Las Vegas police on Monday.

“As of September 2018, the case has been reopened and our detectives are following up on information being provided.”

The full complaint can be read of the ‘Der Spiegel’ website here, featuring Mayorga’s full description of the alleged events in Las Vegas.

Today, Cristiano Ronaldo has responded via his Twitter account, saying: “I strictly deny the allegations of which I am targetted. I consider rape an abject crime, contrary to everything I am and believe.

“I will not feed the media spectacle mounted by those who want to promote at my expense.”

This response also comes after a post on Instagram, in which he called the allegations “fake news”.However, this was later deleted.
