Bayern Munich reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign England teenage-sensation Jadon Sancho before he joined Borussia Dortmund last summer.
Sancho, 18, made his England debut as he came off the bench against Croatia last Friday and it has now been reported that he was on the list of plenty of Europe big clubs when he left Manchester City in 2017
Jordan Sancho decided that his path to the first team Football at Manchester City would be blocked decided that a move elsewhere would be the best option for his development.
Dortmund won the race for his signature, bringing him in on transfer deadline day, with his impressive performances since having marked him out as one of the most exciting young prospects in English football.
However, things could seemingly have been very different for Sancho, with ‘Sport BILD’ reporting that Bayern Munich were also very close to doing a deal for the player, only for senior board officials to pull the plug on the deal late on.
“Munich did not intensify their efforts because the leadership of Bayern was not completely convinced by Sancho,” the report read.
Sancho was part of the England U17 squad that won the World Cup last year
