Chelsea winger Willian believes his teammates having more ‘fun and responsibility’ has been a key reason for why they have got off to the perfect start in the Premier League this season.
Willian was reportedly close to leaving Chelsea this summer and even admitted that had Antonio Conte still been at the helm then he would have walked away from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are set to get their Europa League campaign under way at PAOK and are looking to extend their run, which Willian is sure can happen with the style of play of the Blues now.
“I am very proud to stay and to be a Chelsea player,” Willian said. “It is an honour to play for this club. I am very happy at Chelsea. Everyone knows what happened in the last window.
My mind was always at Chelsea and to play at Chelsea, now with Sarri we have a different way to play football. So I just want to enjoy and continue to play for this club.
“He [Sarri] wants us to play. Everyone, you can see in the game the difference from last season. We play more, we have more possession and have more fun and more responsibility and we win five games in a row. we have to continue in the same way.”
