Tottenham Manager Disappointed By His Players Errors In Defeat To Watford

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that his players will not challenge for the Premier League title if they continue to play like they did against Watford

Tottenham saw their 100% Premier League record ended at Vicarage Road as Watford came from behind to keep their own perfect start alive, with goals from Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart cancelling out an Abdoulaye Doucoure own goal.

Pochettino acknowledged that his side made too many mistakes en route to the defeat, but has urged his players to learn from it if they are to mount a title challenge.

“We were so relaxed in the first half and we made a lot of mistakes. I’m disappointed because we need to do more and play much much better,” Pochettino told Sky Sports News.

“If you want to be a contender you cannot concede the type of goals we conceded. The reality is so clear. When you lose you must learn and improve.”
