NYSC DG Reveals When Increment In Corpers’ Allowance Will Take Effect
The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brig. Gen. Suleiman Kazaure has disclosed that the increment in the allowance of corps members would need to wait for the new national minimum wage to take effect.
The NYSC DG made this known in Akure during the Annual Management Conference of the scheme, which coincided with its 45th anniversary.
Asked when the increment of corps members would take effect, the DG said:
“You know that the scheme is not different from the civil service and we would need to wait for the new national minimum wage to take effect.”
He further revealed that the Federal Government has equally approved the enrolment of corps members into the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS.
