The agent of Chelsea’s Jorginho has revealed that the midfielder agreed to join Manchester City before his move to Stamford Bridge
Jorginho was Pep Guardiola’s number one transfer target but Chelsea hijacked the deal
Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos confirmed that the player had agreed terms with the Premier League champions, but that City and Napoli failed to come to an agreement before Chelsea swooped in.
“It was all done with Jorginho. There was an agreement, but there was no agreement between the clubs. All parties have to agree, and one did not,” Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“Then Chelsea asked what the situation was after Sarri arrived and Jorginho went to London. He’s really enjoying it at Chelsea, the team is on a roll and has won four matches out of four.
“It’s a great start. Going to Chelsea was a unique opportunity, the career of a player is very short and now we hope for the best.”
