‘Who Am I To Speak After Jagaban?’ — Says Ambode At Launch Of Jim Ovia’s Book
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State left the audience laughing after he acknowledged Bola Tinubu, a National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with a light-hearted remark, during the launch of ‘Africa Rise and Shine’, a book by Jim Ovia.
Tinubu and Ambode were guests at the launch of ‘Africa, Rise and Shine’; a book written by Jim Ovia, businessman and founder of Zenith bank.

At the ongoing event at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos, Ambode was invited to speak immediately after Tinubu and the former acknowledged the political prowess of APC godfather, who is fondly referred to as ‘The Jagaban’ by admirers.
Upon mounting the podium, Ambode acknowledged the dignitaries, saying he was not prepared to give a speech.

“Actually, I didn’t prepare to come and say anything here… And who am I to speak after the Jagaban has spoken?’ Ambode asked.
The duo are reportedly not the best of friends in recent weeks.
This is after the former governor had indicated his support for former Commissioner, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, for the office of Governor of Lagos; with Ambode eyeing a second stint in office in 2019.
