Wilfried Zaha Tells Crystal Palace Stars He Wants To Join Chelsea
Chelsea appear to be winning the race for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha as he has reportedly told his Palace team-mates he wants to leave Selhurst Park.
The Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park in recent weeks.
Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham are said to be chasing the winger, who impressed under Roy Hodgson last season but he has already snubbed interest from Everton as he is reluctant to move north again, after a failed stint with Manchester United.
Tottenham have also been linked with Zaha, but are now trying to sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.
The Mirror Sport is reporting that the Ivory Coast international has told his Palace teammates of his plans, and would be willing to submit a transfer request should the club continue to price him out of a move.
Daily Mail is also reporting that Palace will not sell the Ivory Coast international unless they are offered a huge sum to sell him for a second time in his career.
Palace have since offered Zaha a new deal worth £125,000-a-week — although he only signed one for £100,000-a-week 15 months ago.
Zaha is settled in London after leaving Palace in 2013 for an ill-fated spell at Old Trafford that saw him spend much of the next two seasons out on loan.
Should Chelsea land Zaha, he will become Maurizio Sarri’s third summer signing.
Jorginho and Rob Green are the Blues’ only signings so far, with Sarri keen to splash the cash before the transfer window shuts on August 9.
