Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng has reportedly told Jose Mourinho that he is not interested in a move to Manchester United

Jerome Boateng has been the subject of interest from Manchester United who are desperate to bring in a new defender before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

According to The Guardian, though, Boateng will not be making a late switch to Old Trafford as he has already made clear to Mourinho that he can forget about any deal.

Boateng, under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2021, is said to have told the Portuguese that he does not believe United can seriously challenge for Champions League success this term.

A move to PSG, however, could still be on the cards for the 29-year-old, who Bayern are willing to sell for around £50m.

Manchester United has so far signed Brazilian midfielder Fred, young full-back Diogo Dalot and back-up goalkeeper Lee Grant this summer for a combined £75.5m.
