Emmanuel Amuneke has been confirmed as the new head coach of the Tanzania football team.
The 47-year-old former Nigeria international has signed a two-year deal, replacing Salum Mayanga, who was sacked after a poor run of results.
Amuneke will be charged with getting Tanzania’s African Cup of Nations qualification back on track.
The Tafia Stars sit third in their Group L of qualifying, after drawing 1-1 with Lesotho.
Before the appointment of the 1994 African Player of the Year, Tanzania had four different coaches over four years.
Amuneke’s will make his bow when Tanzania face Uganda in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash on September 7, 2018.
