Woman Jailed For “Bewitching” Her Husband With Erectile Dysfunction
A woman in a Polygamous marriage has been sentenced to 13 months in prison after she owned up that she “bewitched” her husband by making sure he is unable to have sexual intercourse with his first wife.
The accused, Memory Shiri, 24, was sentenced after her husband, Godwishes Magarira, 40, dragged her to court before Gutu resident Magistrate, Victor Mohadi, accusing her of bewitching him.
It was gathered that in 2016, the 40-year-old man and Shiri lived together in a polygamous relationship in Makanda Village, where Magarira also had a first wife, Easther Chagonda.
According to iHarare reports, Magarira told the court that he suffered erectile dysfunction problem whenever he is with his first wife, Chagonda.
The court also heard that Magarira approached Shiri and questioned why he failed to have an erection whenever he wants to sleep with the first wife and Shiri answered ‘ndakakusunga’ ( I bewitched you).
He also accused Shiri of boasting that she can control her husband’s sex life. To further confirm the claims, Magarira also brought a medical examination report to prove that he was having sexual problems.
As a result of this, Shiri was sentenced to 13 months in imprisonment wholly suspended on condition that she performs 455 hours of community service.
