Sade Adu: British-Nigerian Singer To Soon Bless Us With New Album
There are very strong indications that we might soon be listening to a new album from renowned British-Nigerian singer Helen Folasade Adu CBE known professionally as Sade Adu.
Sade’s longtime collaborator and famed British musician Stuart Matthewman — who is an original member of the band — exclusively tells Rated R&B, “We’re working on a new album.”
The singer’s saxophonist and longtime collaborator further stated that Sade Adu and company have “a bunch of songs,” and that “when we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it.”
Matthewman later noted that Sade’s label, Epic Records, respects her artistry, with no pressure to release a project.
“The record company knows there’s no point in nagging us or giving us deadlines. It doesn’t really help the process,” he notes.
The news outlet also says “It’s been eight years now, and Sade still hasn’t fully emerged from her music slumber to bless us with a new full-length album. She did, however, tease us with an original song (“Flowers in the Universe“) contribution to Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack. Although, official solo music could be coming soon.”
In year 2000 the “Sweetest Taboo” singer released her “Lovers Rock” album and in 2010 dropped “Soldier of Love”.
