Though it remains a rumour but it has started to gain traction on the internet that Tottenham forward Harry Kane may join Manchester United.

It is understood that bookmakers have slashed the odds on Harry Kane joining Manchester United from 33/1 To 4/1.

Express.UK is quoting traders from two bookmaker giants – Paddy Power and Betfair – as reporting sizeable cash placed today on Kane swapping Tottenham for Manchester United before the August 9 deadline.

Kane was 33/1 to join United before the start of business this morning but it’s now into 4/1 after a heap of big bets.

The move stunned insiders at the company, with a spokesman admitting there has been ‘total shock’ at the Friday market move.

“We are laying Harry Kane to go to Manchester United – it’s come from nowhere, ” says Paddy Power spokesman Lee Price.

“The bets have just kept on coming and we’ve had to keep slashing and slashing the price. It seems punters can’t get enough of it.

“It appears United really could get their man and that Kane may be heading to Old Trafford.”

THE SUN also quoted Betfair spokesperson Katie Bayliss as saying:

“At the start of the day Harry Kane’s odds of going to Manchester United were a long shot at 33/1, but this afternoon we started seeing a lot of action on him to head north, with punters lumping on Spurs’ biggest weapon to go United.”

“So much so that he is now at odds of 4/1 to go there, the same odds as a move to Real Madrid, which has been talked up a lot in the last couple of weeks.”

Twitter users have begun to talk about it.
