Chelsea are ready to make a £30m deadline-beating move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to reports in the Mail on Sunday.
New Arsenal boss Unai Emery had previously said that he believed the Wales international was going to stay at the Emirates.
However, Chelsea are now prepared to test the Gunners’ resolve after enduring a distraction last season when Alexis Sanchez — who would later join Manchester United in January — and Mesut Ozil started the campaign in the final year of their contracts.
Ramsey, 27, scored 11 times in all competitions last season and Unai Emery will be desperate to keep hold of his midfield talisman.
The report goes on to say Unai Emery is still confident that the 27-year-old will stay but the club wants the situation sorted before the start of the season when the transfer window closes.
