Galatasaray have confirmed the signing of Nigeria forward Henry Onyekuru on a season-long loan from Everton.
Transfer Talks have been ongoing for days between the two sides over a possible temporary switch, with the Nigerian international still not able to play for his parent club due to work permit issues.
Henry Onyekuru was signed by Everton last summer from KAS Eupen, but was immediately sent to spend the 2017/18 term with Anderlecht as he couldn’t pick up a UK work permit.
The 21-year-old was impressive in the first half of the campaign in Belgium, bagging 10 goals in his first 27 appearances and also impressing in the Champions League, which could have been a key factor in the forward potentially being able to play in the Premier League.
A serious injury forced Onyekuru to return to Finch Farm for treatment, but the Everton man did return to Anderlecht before the end of the term and was fully fit to play.
Galatasaray announced on Monday that they were in talks over a potential deal, and have now confirmed that the Everton man will spend next term in Turkey.
Everton will reportedly receive a £700,000 loan fee for the youngster, who has joined up with Galatasaray’s training camp in Switzerland.
“Galatasaray are glad to make the signing of Henry Onyekuru official! Nigerian 21-year old winger is joining us from @Everton on loan,” the Turkish club Tweeted.
