Leicester boss Claude Puel says Harry Maguire must remain at the King Power Stadium, amid reported interest from Manchester United.
Leicester are reportedly readying a new contract for the towering centre-back to improve his terms to wages in the region of £80,000-a-week having already lost another key player, Riyad Mahrez, this summer to Manchester City for £60m.
“It is important [for Maguire] to continue for Leicester,” said Puel. “It is a good feeling.
“If our players are interesting a lot of clubs, it is because we made good recruitment and work in our training sessions.
“It is important to continue this work. Of course, when we welcome them [Maguire and Vardy] back I hope we can to give them the opportunity to continue their ambition and perform in the Premier League.
Harry Maguire is currently on holiday following his World Cup involvement and is due to report back to Leicester for pre-season in the first week of August.
