Did You Know You Can Eat Your Cake And Drink It As Vodka?

If you are a cake lover, chances are you find all varieties of cakes be it Frosted cake, apple pie, cookie dough or salted caramel irresistible. However, Eating all of these would mostly likely put you in a sugar coma. Instead of eating your cake, why not drink it?

The good news is a number of vodka brands are seemingly doing the impossible by channeling our sweet tooth into sweet tasting drinks and serving dessert in a bottle.

The super sweet vodka trend started a few years ago and hasn’t stopped growing since. Cake vodkas can be seen all around, be it in liquor stores, at parties, essentially everywhere. There are different flavours, ranging from creamsicle to bubblegum or even red velvet cake!

You shouldnt be surprised with the varieties available. As a matter of fact, some Restaurants and bars have even jumped on the bandwagon putting these drinks on their dessert menus.

While the cake vodka drink may seem very sweet, the positive side of it is that there’s a lot less calories in vodka than a slice of cake.

Hoeever, this cake vodka trend isn’t for everyone. People that have been referred to as spirit purists are understandably opposed to the cake flavours in a big way.

However, it is hard for a person who wants a cocktail, more delicious than a vodka soda, to make something with tons of ingredients at home on any average weekend night.

This is where a cool vodka flavour comes in. A flavor like Absolut Orient Apple mixed with ginger ale or seltzer could be exactly what you’re looking for, something different, yummy, and easy. That’s about as artificially sweet as we’ll get – sweet custom cocktails are a whole different story. Bring on the chocolate.

Though the sweet vodka flavorus may not be force everybody, a lot of big brands don’t seem to think of it this way. Sweet flavoured vodkas made huge profits in the past few years boosting sales for several major brands.

Stoli released their confection-inspired Salted Karamel late last year followed by Smirnoff Iced Cake in January 2018. Even Svedka launched an Orange Cream flavour and the most recent is UV Candy Bar, a combination of milk chocolate, caramel and peanut butter.

While it maybe hard to stomach the idea of drinking a candy bar or sipping on frosted cake, this trend however seems to be going nowhere. Have you tried any of these super sweet vodkas?
