Former Chelsea captain and Legend John Terry has paid tribute to Antonio Conte after the Italian was sacked today
Antonio Conte’s three-year deal was cut short on Thursday with former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri set to succeed him.
The Italian won the Premier League title in his first season, but that initial success was soured by an off-the-field power struggle over the club’s transfer policy.
Relations soured between Conte and the board, and performances were soon affected.
Chelsea were unable to defend their title, finishing fifth in the table and missing out on Champions League.
Chelsea’s FA Cup triumph over Manchester United would prove to be his final match in charge.
John Terry took to Instagram to pay tribute to his old boss.
Attached to a picture of himself and Conte celebrating their title success, he wrote: “Thank you boss. Great man, great manager.”
“I wish you every success in the future.”
