Buhari Appoints Dauda Rarara As Music Director, Desmond Elliot As Secretary Ahead Of 2019 Poll
With barely months to the commencement of the 2019 General Elections, the Presidency, through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), has announced the appointment of a popular Kano musician, Dauda Rarara as the National Director of Music for the Buhari 2019 Presidential Support Committee (PSC).
Also appointed into the committee is a Nollywood actor and Lagos lawmaker, Hon Desmond Elliot, who was made the National Publicity Secretary, Nigeria Guardian reports.
It was gathered that the PSC is different from the Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO), which recently appointed Rotimi Amaechi as the Director General with Festus Keyamo as spokesman and Director, Strategic Communications.
It was also learnt that the Presidency formally announced a former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the Director General of Committee.
The Sheriff-led body has a list of 35 members, 10 members of National Advisory Committee and 5 members of National Patrons with President Buhari as the Grand Patron.
Chief of Staff to the Imo State governor and governorship aspirant of APC, Uche Ugwumba Nwosu was made the National Secretary.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political matters, Gideon Sammani, who made the disclosure in an official statement said, “Prominent individuals have been selected from Buhari Support Group in their own rights as loyalists.”
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Mamman Daura all make up the National Patrons of the Committee.
Members of the National advisory committee are, Senators M.T Mbu, Yerima Bakura, George Akume, Abdullahi Adamu, Ita Giwa, Gudaji Kazaure, Hajiya Ireti, Ismaila Isa Funtua and Abu Ibrahim.
