Wizkid And Shatta Wale Unite On Stage At Ghana Meets Naija 2018

To the surprise of many fans, popular Nigerian act, Wizkid invited Ghana’s Shatta Wale on stage during the former’s performance at this year’s Ghana Meets Naija.

Bear in mind that Shatta had once threatened Wizkid, warning him not to come to Ghana.

Trouble was lit then when the self-acclaimed king of Ghanaian dancehall music criticized the Nigerian music sensation.

During an interview with Kasapa FM, Shatta had expressed his displeasure over how Ghanaians, especially celebrities, put Wikzid on a pedestal.

According to the Ghanaian dancehall artiste, there is nothing exceptional about the afrobeats singer. He said Wizkid should be starstruck when he sees him (Shatta Wale).

“I will not see Wizkid and be stunned, I rather want him to see me and be amazed because I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste”, he said.

The issue had stoked controversy on social media with many wondering why Shatta Wale would make such a statement especially when Wizkid is known worldwide.

But last night, at one of Ghana’s biggest event, GhanaMeetsNaija, the duo apparently reconciled and performed together on Stage.

Wizkid earlier gave Shatta Wale a shout out during the beginning of his performance but that did not serve notice of a possible reunion at the main event.

Midway through his performance, Wizkid paused and invited Shatta Wale on to the stage even though the latter was not billed to perform on the night.

Shocked by the act, the audience screamed, stood on their chairs, pulled out their phones to capture the moment.

Pleasantries were exchanged between the duo on stage after which Wale performed his hit song ‘Gringo’ and exited the stage for the ‘Starboy’ to continue with his performance.
