Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has branded comments by Sergio Ramos after the Champions League final as “an idiot thing to say” as the fallout from Liverpool’s defeat to Real Madrid continues.
Sergio Ramos has attracted criticism for his performance in Kiev and for his part in the injury that forced Mohamed Salah off the field.
The Real Madrid skipper also caught Loris Karius in the face with an elbow in an off-the-ball incident that later test revealed had concussed the Reds goalkeeper.
Ramos responded on Tuesday by laughing off the incidents and stating: “I am only missing Roberto Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat!”
Firmino, though, wasn’t having any of it
“I prefer not to talk about it,” said the Liverpool striker. “It’s okay, he (Ramos) is a champion.
“But I think it’s an idiot thing for him to say… but that’s okay.”
