Ras Kimono: Legendary Raggae Artiste Passes Away At 60

One of the leading reggae icons in Nigeria, Ukeleke Onwubuya, better known by his stage name ‘Ras Kimono’, has reportedly passed on.

The legendary singer, known for the hit singles like Under Pressure and ‘Rumba Stylee’ died on Sunday 10th June aged 60.

The renown singer was said to have concluded plans to travel to the United States last night before he complained of feeling funny.

According to reports, the legendary raggae artist was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja, where he was later taken to Lagoon Hospital on the Island where he died.

It is understood that as at press time, music veterans Tony Okoroji, Sir Shina Peters, and other members of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), are meeting to make burial plans.

Ras Kimono was one of the veterans from the 90’s who continued to remain relevant on the music scene, mentoring and contributing to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
