James Collins is set to leave West Ham at the end of his current contract.
James Collins was informed via email earlier this month that his contract would not be renewed.
The 34-year-old confirmed the news of his departure on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.
He wrote: ‘It’s official. I will be leaving West Ham on June 30th… Heartbroken.’
The announcement was met with anger from fans, who saw him as one of the club’s most committed players throughout their two previous relegation-threatened campaigns.
Collins was used sparingly by former West Ham manager David Moyes last season, starting just 15 games across all competitions as they avoid Premier League relegation.
