Chelsea bosss Antonio Conte has claimed that his players “must be clever” when it comes to managing their fitness levels against Huddersfield Town.
On Wednesday night, Chelsea face a must-win game with the Terriers as they look to retain hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, and the match comes just over 72 hours after the club’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool.
Huddersfield head into the fixture looking to secure survival in the top flight, and Conte has said that he is expecting a difficult encounter with the Terriers.
At a press conference, the 48-year-old told reporters: “For sure our expectations are to have a tough game. Huddersfield are fighting to avoid relegation.
“We must pay great attention and we have to play with only two days’ rest. We spent a lot of mental and physical effort. You have to win over 90 minutes, not the way you start and we must be clever.”
