Liverpool and Roma have both been charged by UEFA for incidents that took place at last month’s Champions League semifinal
Both clubs have been charged with crowd disturbances that occured outside Anfield ahead of the first leg of the semifinal tie.
Liverpool have also been charged with setting off fireworks and the throwing of objects, with the case to be heard by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on May 31.
Liverpool supporter Sean Cox, 53, from Dunboyne in Ireland, was left in a critical condition as he was attacked outside Anfield prior to the match on April 24.
Two men from Italy were charged by police following the incident and remain in custody ahead an appearance at Liverpool Crown Court on May 24.c
