Real Sociedad have announced that they have sacked their manager Eusebio Sacristan.
Eusebio Sacristan arrived at the La Liga club in 2015, with the White and Blues finishing in sixth and 12th-place respectively in the past two campaigns.
However, Sociedad currently sit in 15th position in the standings after recording just nine wins from 29 fixtures this season and it has led to the club opting to make a change in the dugout.
The 53-year-old – who has previously coached Barcelona ‘B’ – leaves Sociedad having registered a total of 46 victories from his 112 matches in charge.
Sunday also saw the club reach an agreement for its Director of Sport, with Lorenzo Juarros ‘Loren’ to leave his post after 9 years in the role.
In an official communique, the club highlighted that Loren, who also played over 400 times for the Real Sociedad first team, had helped see them to promotion from the second division to the Primera Liga and also to qualification for the Champions League and Europa Leauge.
Eusebio will be replaced by Real Sociedad’s B-team coach Imanol Alguacil until the end of the season and his main task will be to shore up a defense which has conceded 51 goals this campaign.
