Arsene Wenger has praised his players for taking “advantage” of a “very nervous” Ostersunds FK side in their Europa League last-32 first leg at the Jamtkraft Arena.
Arsenal were 3-0 winners in Sweden thanks to strikes from Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil, in addition to a Sotirios Papagiannopoulos own goal.
“We did the job well, controlled the ball against a good side,” Wenger told BT Sport. “They beat Hertha Berlin here, 2-2 against Athletic Bilbao, so a quality team.
“But once we scored the first goal we were in control. Overall we played a serious game, so job done. They looked very nervous and we took advantage of it.
“I think the young players in the team played well in group stages, so [they were] kept in the squad and [I will] continue to try and give them minutes when I can.”
