German nurse, Niels Hoegel, who allegedly killed his victims out of boredom has been charged with 97 murders, making him one of Europe’s deadliest serial killers.

Hoegel, who was already serving a life sentence after being charged in 2015 for murdering six patients, was charged with another 97 murders on Monday according to German prosecutors via a press release. He is accused of giving victims various non-prescribed drugs in an attempt to show off his resuscitation skills to colleagues and fight off boredom.

Niels Hoegel was previously jailed in 2015 after being convicted of killing six people, which led German authorities to investigate hundreds of deaths and exhume bodies of former patients in the clinics where he had worked. He is accused of killing 62 patients in a Delmenhorst clinic and another 35 patients in Oldenburg clinics.
According to Police, the final number of murders may never be known as some possible victims were cremated.
