Hulu has canceled “Chance,” its drama series starring Hugh Laurie, after two seasons.

Chance was a hot package that, in a very competitive situation, landed at Hulu with two-season 20-episode order, so this was the first time it came up for renewal.

The 20-episode psychological thriller, based on the novel of the same from Kem Nunn, had Laurie again playing a doctor, this time a forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.

Lenny Abrahamson served as executive producer alongside Alexandra Cunningham (“Desperate Housewives”), Michael London (“Milk,” “Trumbo”), Brian Grazer (“Empire”), Laurie, and Nunn.
