A “disturbing” video has emerged and gone viral on the internet in which an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) can be seen publicly engaging a woman in a fist fight.
The video, which was shared online by an eyewitness and obtained by The Nation, showed the FRSC officer throwing punches at the woman, while she reciprocated the ugly gesture.
While the cause of the fist fight is yet to be ascertained, the FRSC official can be seen in the footage slapping the woman while attempting to take off his belt to flog her.
The location and time of the incident couldn’t be ascertained, but parties in the video could be heard speaking the Hausa language.
Towards the end of the 1min 24secs minute video, the apparently infuriated FRSC officer got involved in a scuffle with another female passenger — an elderly woman — who alighted from the vehicle to challenge him. He was given a dirty slap upon exchange of heated words.
This is not the first time road safety officials will engage motorists in a fight.
In July, the conduct of some officials of the FRSC was questioned amid outrage after a video showing a female officer struggling with the driver of a moving car along Wuse Road, Abuja, went viral on the Internet.
