Andres Iniesta has reignited talk of a possible move by Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona following the club’s unsuccessful courtship of the Liverpool man during the summer.
The Catalan side had numerous bids for the Brazilian turned down by the Reds as they sought to fill the gap left in their side by Neymar’s record-breaking move to Paris St Germain.
Barca have also been linked with Colombian defender Yerry Mina, with Javier Mascherano being touted as possibly being on his way out of the Camp Nou, and Iniesta believes the pair would make fine additions to Ernesto Valverde’s table-toppers.
“I think they would be two important reinforcements to the squad,” he told reporters. “If the club wants to strengthen those positions, it should be with players that can be prepared to withstand the pressure of a club like this, and they would be two big signings.
“But nothing has happened, so it’s difficult.”
