Neymar’s move to Real Madrid could be more plausible than initially thought, after his dad reportedly met President Florentino Perez for dinner to discuss a potential £220m deal.
The PSG star is six months into his £600,000-a-week deal but is already believed to be unsettled in the French capital. According to Diario Gol his father Neymar Sr spoke to Perez on a potential deal, which would break the world record-fee.
‘Neymar Sr promised the President of the Real that he would put as much pressure as possible on Nasser Al- Khelaifi to let his son escape this summer,’ Diario Gol wrote.
‘You have my word,’ Neymar Sr said according to the reports.
Real are allegedly prepared to pay as much as €250m (£220.49m) in order to sign the 25-year-old, who has scored 15 goals in 18 appearances since moving to the Parc des Princes.
The report also suggests that there is an understanding that a move may not take place until 2019, despite Neymar said to be keen to wrap up the transfer in the summer.
