Manchester United are interested in signing Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka.
Leon Goretzka is out of contract in the summer and would be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1.
Schalke want him to stay and have offered him a new deal which would make him the highest paid player in the club’s history.
According to Sky Sports News, United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be monitoring the situation ahead of potentially lodging a bid for the player.
Since signing for Schalke in 2013, Goretzka has scored a total of 18 goals in 126 appearances in all competitions, while the Royal Blues currently sit in third place in the league standings.
