Dino Melaye, the Senator representing Kogi West, may have ventured into Nigeria’s music industry, as he recently made an appearance in a new music video by hip-hop act, Uche Kachikwu, better known by his stage name as Kach.
Kach, who is the second son of Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, released a music video titled “Dino” – where he lavished praise on the lifestyle of the serving senator, who is presumably Nigeria’s most controversial politician.

With “LEGEND” written on his T-shirt, Melaye can be seen in the music video, which also featured a lavish display of cash, jewellery, fast cars and endowed women.
At various points in the video, the senator can be seen dancing alongside the artiste as chants of ‘Dino’ comes from time to time.
“Balling every day like Ronaldinho. Money spending no aristo. Dino, Dino, Dino Melaye,” sings the artist Kach, while talking on a phone that is actually a stack of cash, then lounging on a bed with gold chains around his neck and a woman massaging his shoulders, and finally throwing money out of a Rolls-Royce.
It was learnt that the song was financed by the serving senator and shot in his house.

Meanwhile, scores of Nigerians have taken to social media to offer their opinions. While some were impressed, others were left unsure whether the senator was actually flaunting his wealth or being ironic and particularly insensitive about the “standards of behavior” of a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dino Melaye’s appearance in that music video by Petroleum Minister Kachikwu’s son seems like a middle finger to Nigerians. They don’t even get the irony, or are we being hypersensitive?

Today I am proud to be a Nigerian. This video about and featuring a serving senator in Nigeria’s ruling party. About chics, popping bottles and spending dollars. You’ll love it.

Fancy cars, a golden skull & lots of $100 bills. I wonder how much Nigerian senator Dino Melaye, who ‘wrote’ a book called Antidotes For Corruption, paid for this song about himhttps://t.co/WWuHxKOVqv

I”ve never commented publically on Senator Dino Melaye. Having seen his cameo in the music video made by Petroleum minister, Ibe Kachikwu”s son, I still find it hard to say anything other than; Ride on Dino, your sins are being recorded.
