Arsenal have handed three young stars new contracts at the Emirates.
The Gunners have tied down striker Eddie Nketiah, goalkeeper Matt Macey and Ben Sheaf to extended deals, after all made their first-team breakthroughs this term.
Eddie Nketiah has made four first-team appearances this term, featuring in the League Cup and Europa League.
The 18-year-old came off the bench to score twice in the third round win over Norwich. He also has seven goals in six games for the England Under-19s this year.
Eddie Nketiah has been singled out for praise by Arsene Wenger.
‘He was decisive and overall he has the flair to anticipate when you are in the box,” Wenger said after the win against Norwich.
That’s a quality you cannot give at that age anymore. You either have it or you don’t, so that’s very positive for him.
‘I like the header as well that he scored because he’s not tall. He was very high and it shows that determination when heading is there for the guy that wants it.’
Keeper Macey, 23, deputised for the injured David Ospina in that game, and also played in the 0-0 draw with Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.
Sheaf, signed as a 14-year-old from West Ham, made his debut coming on as a substitute in the 1-0 away win over Red Star in October.
