Antonio Conte has confirmed that Alvaro Morata will not play against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night due to fatigue and a back problem.
Chelsea will take on the Terriers with the hope of bouncing back from a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United.
Conte has explained that tiredness is becoming a real issue with his team due to the packed schedule that accommodates domestic commitments as well as the Champions League.
“Morata is out, because he’s a bit tired and there is a problem in his back. He is out,” The Mirror quotes the manager as saying.
“I think when you play every three days, it is impossible to have a training session and to work on the physical aspects. It’s impossible. It’s impossible because you have to prepare with the players for a game every three days.
“I think we have to face the reality and will try to do our best. If I stay here to complain it is not the right way. We have to try to do our best.”
