Sevilla head coach, Eduardo Berizzo has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, the La Liga club has confirmed on their site.
Reports were starting to emerge after the halftime of the sensational 3-3 UCL draw between Sevilla and Liverpool.
With Berizzo informing his players of his condition at the break, when they were trailing 3-0.
The club has now confirmed the news via a statement on their website.
“The medical services of Sevilla FC report that the coach of the first team, Eduardo Berizzo, has been diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma of the prostate. Future examinations will allow us to decide what steps to follow regarding its treatment.
“Sevilla FC wants to show its full support for the coach right now and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
