Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says he is unsure if he will be granted a January transfer kitty in his bid to stave off relegation, after admitting the club invested a lot in the current squad during the summer.
“I don’t think it’s going to be totally up to me what business we do in the transfer window, that will be a matter for the club – how much money they want to invest,” he said.
“Of course we are constantly on the lookout to see what strengthening we could do to our team and the reasons we might need it, but quite frankly until we get a lot closer to the transfer window I won’t know what kind of money, if any, will be available and what we can do.
“Everybody knows we have two senior goalkeepers at the club, one of whom is 38-years-plus and right from the very start of the season everyone has been saying that Crystal Palace need at least one more goalkeeper. I don’t think that’s a great secret.”
