Lyon striker Mariano Diaz has hinted that he doesn’t regret leaving Real Madrid earlier this year, although he refused to rule out a future move back to the Bernabeu.
Mariano Diaz , who came through the ranks at the Bernabeu, has shone in France since moving to Lyon in the summer, bagging nine goals in 12 Ligue 1 outings.
Madrid, meanwhile, have struggled in front of goal, with some suggesting they should have kept hold of the forward.
The player himself insists he is happy with the decision he made, although he says he would never dismiss a return to the European champions.
Speaking to Radio MARCA, he said: “People tell me that this year I could have been Madrid’s second striker, but I always respond in the same way – I am very happy where I am.
“[Real Madrid] is such a big club that I would never close [the door on a return], but I always say that I have a contract for five years with Lyon, I’ve just started [here] andI am very comfortable.”
