Robert Lewandowski has offered his backing to struggling Borussia Dortmund forward, Pierre-emerick Aubameyang and expects him to overcome his goal drought.
Aubameyang racked up 10 goals in 11 matches, but has been unable to score in five matches in all competitions.
Lewandowski overtook the Gabon international after scoring in the match against Dortmund and gave an opinion to the forward.
“Everybody goes through these phases and the scorer’s job is the hardest one on the pitch anyway,” Lewandowski told Bild.
“When you are on a good run, you score everything, but woe betides when it doesn’t work and you hit the crossbar instead of the net.
“Then a lot of things go through your head.
“It’s important to clear your head quickly and regain the old looseness, then I’m sure he’ll be successful again.”
