Emre Can is edging closer to the exit door at Liverpool after contract talks hit another roadblock.
The Mirror claims Emre Can could leave in the summer with his current deal set to run out at the end of this season – his representatives are said to be playing ‘hard ball’ as they seek a similar wage to Philippe Coutinho, who earns a reported £160,000 a week.
The fact that his contract expires in nine months also means the midfielder can sign a pre-contract deal with another club in January. But where could he possibly go?
Bayern Munich are said to be interested, as are Juventus, with Emre Can admitting he was flattered by the interest from the Italian champions, who had also attempted to sign him in the last transfer window.
For the moment, Can’s priority is helping Liverpool reach the knockout stages of the Champions League and hopes they will make sure of their place on Matchday five in Sevilla before Spartak Moscow arrive at Anfield in December.
