EFCC Arrests Nigeria’s Ex-SGF, Pius Anyim Over Centenary City Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Chief Pius Anyim, Nigeria’s former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

According to SaharaReporters, Anyim is currently in the custody of the EFCC where he is being grilled by detectives of the anti-corruption agency.

It is understood that the former SFG was arrested by the anti-graft agency over alleged fraud involving the Centenary City in Abuja.

Anyim served as SGF under the recent past government of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Recently, the House of Representatives had recommended that Anyim be indicted in connection to the Abuja Centenary City project.

The Lower House also alleged that the former SGF and his associates breached the existing laws guiding the Abuja land swap policy for personal gains.
