Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has told Brazilian team-mate Neymar that he will “always be welcome” at the Bernabeu.
Neymar has been linked with the European champions despite only making a world-record move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
“He’s a star. He knows what he’s doing,” Casemiro told COPE after Brazil’s 0-0 friendly draw with England. “He’s a great player and he’ll always be welcome at Real Madrid. I hope he comes, but he’s happy at his club.”
“I hope he comes, but he’s happy at his club.”
He’s very important for us, we have to enjoy him. He is a great player.
“You always have to joke. We joke about coming to Real Madrid, but he is happy at his club.
“It’s always important to have a little love. Neymar has people at his side who love him and care a lot. He is among the three best players in the world.”
Reflecting on the upcoming Madrid derby this weekend, Casemiro added: “I played 90 minutes with Brazil (against England) but I am ready to play the derby.
“That depends on the coach. I hope it goes well. It will be a great match because they’re a great rival. We can’t drop more points.
“I’m happy for the return of Dani Carvajal (after his illness). He is a very important player for us.”
