Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun says he is happy that a move to Crystal Palace didn’t materialise over the summer.
“About my transfer to Crystal Palace, I can say that I’m very happy the move failed,” he said in quotes carried by the Croydon Advertiser.
“Because I get to stay at the club and I am doing very well at the moment in both the league and the Champions League.”
“I’m happy to stay here and progress my career.”
Cenk Tosun – who is an apparent January target of several Premier League clubs – was the subject of a failed £12m move from the Eagles last summer, but he is definitely not rueing the way things worked out.
Palace – the top-flight’s lowest scorers with just four goals in 11 games – are desperate to bolster their attacking options in the new year.
In the meantime, Hodgson will be pinning his hopes on £27m striker Christian Benteke returning following the international break.
