Harry Potter and Game of Thrones are different in a number of ways but are nonetheless similar.
Harry Potter happens to be a movie franchise while #GameOfThrones happens to be a television series but both happen to have their origins from books written by J K Rowling and George R.R Martin respectively.
Another similarity between both is in the actors that have appeared in them. Some are pretty recognisable while others are pretty difficult to identify.

7 foot tall Ian Whyte portrayed the full body shots of the character Madame Olympe Maxime who was also portrayed by actress, Frances de la Tour in Harry Potter.
He however also portrayed multiple characters in #GameOfThrones including White Walkers in seasons 1, 2 and 3 and ‘The Mountain’ in season 2.
Furthermore, he played the giant character of Wun Wun who sacrificed his life for the Starks to retake Winterfell in season 6.
David Bradley can be recognised as Walder Frey, the leader of House Frey who carried out the massacre of the Stark Army in season 4. He however also played the role of a hateful character, Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts school who sometimes acts cruelly towards the students.
She’s very recognizable in #GameOfThrones as Catelyn Stark, the Matriarch of House Stark but very few people know that she also appeared in Harry Potter and the ‘Deathly Hallows’ as the mother of Hermione grange.
Julian Glover plays the role of Grand Maester Pycelle in #GameOfThrones but can’t be recognised in Harry Potter since he only voiced the character of the giant spider – Aragog.

Natalie Tena appears all through the Harry Potter movies as Nymphadora Tonks and there’s a likelihood you missed her appearance in #GameOfThrones as the wildling Osha who takes care of Rickon Stark in Season 1, 2 and 3 before reappearing in season 6 where she met her demise in the hands of Ramsey Bolton.
He played the Spice King, one of the 13 rulers of Qarth in #GameOfThrones. Very few however know that he also had a role in ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ as Bob, a wizard who worked with Arthur Weasley at the Ministry of Magic.
Bronson Webb appeared in season 1 of #GameOfThrones as a member of the Night’s Watch who was executed by Ned Stark for deserting after an encounter with the white walkers. He also appeared as a friend of Draco Malfoy in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.’
