Goalkeeper Roman Burki has signed a new deal with Borussia Dortmund, keeping him at the club until 2021.

Roman Burki joined Dortmund from Freiburg in 2015 and has made 95 appearances for the Bundesliga side to date.

“I’m pleased with the trust the club has placed in me, especially during such a tough time [Bürki’s midjudgement against APOEL in the UEFA Champions League led to the Cypriots’ goal]. I’m thrilled and proud to be the goalkeeper of such a great team,” the Swiss shot-stopper added.

“Roman is the perfect fit for Borussia Dortmund on both a sporting and personal level,” said sporting director Michael Zorc. “We like his style of play, see great potential for development in him and assume he will soon show that on a regular basis.”
