The West African giant became the first African country to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, after they won Zambia 1-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, on Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi was introduced in the second half and he immediately made his impact felt as he finished off a fine move down the right, following a nice combination play between Victor Moses and Shehu Abdullahi.

The Arsenal striker came with the pace and brilliance the Eagles needed and he scored from close range.
The Super Eagles now have 13 points at the top of Group and an unassailable six-point lead ahead of Zambia, with one round of games left.
They join the likes of Brazil, Spain, Mexico, England, Germany, Iran, South Korea, etc. who have also booked their places at next year’s tournament.
