Liverpool are linked to sign Norwegian teenager Olaus Jair Skarsem, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper have cited reports from Norway as the Reds are reportedly keeping tabs on the 19-year-old Rosenborg midfielder and have asked for updates on his progress.
Rosenborg’s sporting director is former Liverpool defender Stig Inge Bjornebye.
And the club hope the familiarity between both parties will speed up the negotiation process and give them the edge.
Jurgen Klopp has made appointing younger players a priority and made Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade one of his first signings.
He has also promoted youth players to the first team and has handed opportunities to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn.
Olaus Jair Skarsem is currently plying his trade in Rosenborg’s second team and is considered one of the hottest prospects in the country.
